Dr. Michael Lake MD is an established and highly skilled physician with decades of surgical experience.  He has a BS degree in Microbiology and General Chemistry from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC.  He obtained his Medical Degree at East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, NC.


Doctor Lake has an extensive military background, having served in the Army since the age of 20.  He completed his General Surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX in 2006.  He subsequently served on active duty in the Army for 16 years obtaining the rank of Colonel.  He also has 18 years of service in the Army Reserves.  He had several deployments to Iraq where he provided surgical care to our U.S. soldiers and Iraqi citizens.  His residency in General Surgery and his experience in Iraq have made him an excellent trauma surgeon.  This experience has sharpened his surgical skills to a degree above many of his colleagues.

After practicing General Surgery for several years, Dr. Lake decided to change specialties and did a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at Florida’s University of Miami in 2009.  His training in Miami gave him extensive experience in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery.  He was trained by some of the most well-known surgeons in plastic surgery. He has dedicated many years of service and is also performing both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures.

Dr. Lake is double Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member in good standing of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, attending numerous continuing education courses and conferences to stay current with the most up-to-date techniques in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Michael Lake is the Medical Director at Sandals Med Spa in West Palm Beach and performs Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery procedures at the miVIP Surgery Centers and the SurgCenter of Palm Beach Gardens.
